The Story Behind AhaTherapy
Before there was an AhaTherapy, there were just three people working in completely different worlds.
Dr. Ashu had been a clinical psychologist for two decades. Shubham was a software engineer building systems for giants. The whole thing kicked off by pure chance. In April, Shubham and Dr. Ashu, who are distant family friends, ended up on a long 4-5 hour train ride together. Shubham had just quit his job at Amazon to build something of his own. Dr. Ashu had been sitting on an idea for years, waiting for the right person to build it. A clinical brain met technical prowess, and the whole thing started.
That one train ride set off a creative sprint. Shubham built a small prototype in just over a month, and Dr. Ashu became the very first user. The first mission was simple: give clinicians their time back, so more of it could reach the people in front of them. But a bigger realisation followed. The people who most need support are usually the ones who never reach a therapist at all. Most of them are sitting inside teams and workplaces, struggling quietly, with no easy way in. That was the real "aha" moment: this wasn't about a tool for one clinic. It was about bringing real mental health care to entire organisations, and giving the people who lead them a way to help early.
Two months later, Shubham called Harsh, his friend since the 6th grade, and told him what they were building. Harsh quit his job the next week and came on board as the third co-founder. The team was complete.
Customer is God
Everything starts and ends with the people we serve: the employees who need support and the organisations that care for them. We don't build what we think is cool. We build what they tell us they need, and then we make it better than they imagined.
Reduce the Clicks
Every extra click is someone's time wasted, whether it is an employee reaching for help or an HR leader trying to act. We obsess over making workflows shorter, simpler, and more intuitive. If it takes more than it should, we haven't finished building it.
Fast and Good Enough > Slow and Perfect
Ship it. Learn from it. Improve it. We'd rather put something useful in people's hands today than chase perfection for months. Speed is a feature.
Make Good Perfect
Once something is working and people rely on it, we go back and make it exceptional. We never settle. Good is just the starting point.
How We Got Here
From a chance train ride to a platform that brings mental health care into whole organisations. Here's how it happened.
A Train Ride That Changed Everything
The First Prototype
Harsh Joins. The Team is Complete.
Cold Calls, Demos, and Real Users
From Feedback to Clarity
From Clinicians to Whole Organisations
What started on a train is now a complete wellbeing platform with a real clinical foundation: 1,290+ assessments administered and hundreds of people supported through the clinicians who deliver care with us. Today we bring that same standard of care to entire organisations, so support reaches everyone in a workforce, not just those who think to ask.
The People Behind AhaTherapy
A small team of a clinician, an engineer, and an operator. Built like a family, not a startup.
